A local home renovated by RSA Architects recently sold after just 3 days on the market. The historic residence in Chagrin Falls was built in 1900 overlooking the river and boasts one of the only private views of the waterfall. After the home was badly damaged in a fire in 2011, RSA redesigned both the interior and exterior of the home to maintain its traditional character while accommodating a 21st century way of life. Renovations on the first floor included a new open concept kitchen, laundry room, mudroom, full bath, dining room, and vaulted family room. On the second floor one bathroom was renovated and another was added, plus a new en suite master bath and walk-in-closet were designed. A bonus room was added above the garage and is accessed by a bookcase door and staircase leading from the dining room. Custom finishes and hickory hardwood flooring were installed throughout the home. Significant structural modifications were made to allow for the open floor plan and new plumbing, electrical wiring, and duct work were installed. Exterior renovations included new siding, doors, windows, a stone terrace, and a new roof, but maintained the style and charm of a century home.
