RSA is committed to the professional growth and development of future architects. We employ a variety of staff from different backgrounds in the architecture industry- licensed architects, technical draftsmen, interior designers, as well as intern architects and student interns. These interns play a vital role by providing support to the more tenured members of the office, allowing projects to be completed more efficiently. Student interns frequently scan and archive drawings, print and assemble drawing sets, and field measure existing projects for renovations. High school students completing senior internships can attend client meetings and site visits, in addition to experiencing the professional environment of an architecture firm to help them decide if they want to pursue architecture as a career. College students and intern architects (those who have graduated from college and are pursuing professional licensure) can work towards the completion of their IDP (Intern Development Program) hours at RSA. Other benefits include an employee financial assistance program for professional registration as well as a commitment to provide a variety of experiences for well-rounded fulfillment of the various required IDP categories. RSA also hosts Lunch-&-Learns from AIA continuing education providers to help our registered architects maintain their licenses.
Local student Alyssa recently completed her high school senior project followed by a paid summer internship at RSA. She comments, “Before senior project I was apprehensive about committing to a college major and future job that I had no previous involvement in... I am extremely grateful to have been given this opportunity because it enabled me to get involved in my field of interest, and I have also gained valuable work experience. I was able to work with the CAD program that I will be using in the future, and while I’ve been scanning files I’ve been exposed to all sorts of different types of drawings such as elevations, floor plans, site plans, wall sections and details… the experience and knowledge I’ve gained will benefit me in college, and has given me a solid foundation for my future as an architect.” RSA sees interns as a valuable investment in the future of the industry. We look for smart, skilled, and energetic interns willing to learn and contribute to the successful completion of projects. RSA offers internships that range from full-time to part-time with seasonal flexibility around school schedules. Contact us at http://www.rsaarchitects.com/contact.html for more information.
